For a chance to win 2 tickets to the March 7 concert, text “elton” to the number “56376” and you’ll find out if you’re one of our 5 winners this Friday.

Tickets officially go on sale this Saturday, and the first camper has already been spotted at the ticket office.  Oren Chase says the live experience is about more than the music, "Besides the music it's all about the whole experience. making eye contact, nobody in front of you, nobody walking in front of you...it's just a big difference in being way back...and you have to do stuff like this once in a while if you want to get some premium seats."

Lowcountry Firefighters head back to the classroom

Lowcountry Firefighters head back to the classroom

Firefighters around the area are busy getting the message out about fire safety. As part of National Fire Prevention Month, Beaufort-Port Royal Firefighters are back at Mossy Oaks Elementary School, teaching kindergartners how to stop, drop, and roll.

Firefighters say by teaching young children about the dangers of fire, they're hoping they will spread the message to their family and friends, helping them to prevent the number one cause of residential fires which is kitchen fires.

"We talk with their kindergartners about tools, toys and the kitchen being a workspace and not to play in the kitchen," said John Robinson. "We send home homework to remind parents that they need to pay attention in the kitchen and not to be distracted. Hopefully, we can avoid a fire in a residence."
