Fiery crash in Beaufort Co. claims life | News
BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC)- Troopers say a motorist died in a fiery crash on St. Helena's Island late Monday.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Corporal Bob Beres said the wreck happened on Coffin Point Road at 10:20 p.m., when the driver of a 2000 Ford Explorer was traveling south and ran off the right side of the road, striking a telephone pole and several trees.
Beres said the SUV then overturned and caught fire.
The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
