Coastal Carolina Fair returns today

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - The Coastal Carolina Fair returns to the Exchange Park in North Charleston today.

The fair will be open every day through November 5 at varying time schedules.  On weekdays, the fair will open at 3 p.m. and close at 9 p.m., except for on Fridays, when it stays open till 11 p.m. 

On Saturdays the fair is open from noon to 11 p.m. and on Sunday it will be open from noon to 9 p.m. 

Senior citizens can enjoy the fair at a slower pace on Wednesday, November 2, from 11 a.m.

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - The Coastal Carolina Fair returns to the Exchange Park in North Charleston for a 10-day stint that starts this Thursday.

The fair will be open every day through November 5 at varying time schedules.  On weekdays, the fair will open at 3 p.m. and close at 9 p.m., except for on Fridays, when it stays open till 11 p.m. 

On Saturdays the fair is open from noon to 11 p.m. and on Sunday it will be open from noon to 9 p.m. 

Boys & Girls Club to debut new rooms

 

The Boys & Girls Club of Beaufort will debut two new rooms - Henry Chambers Teen Club and The Pat Conroy & Cassandra King Reading Room – on Aug. 18. The event is called An Evening with Henry Chambers, Pat Conroy & Cassandra King. Beaufort Mayor Billy Keyserling will be the master of ceremonies. Bombs bursting in air and the rockets’ red glare go great with a side of barbeque and cold drinks, but an exciting 4th of July can quickly turn into a trip to the emergency room for those who forget their fire safety rules.

More fires are reported on Independence Day than any other day of the year. In 2006, fireworks were blamed for an estimated 32,600 fires, including 1,700 structure fires. In 2008, U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated 7,700 home fires involving grills or barbeques. Plus, there are hundreds of injuries and fatalities each year.

Sweetgrass Music Festival coming to town

The Beaufort Sweetgrass Music Festival will be held on Saturday, June 4 from 1p.m. to 10 p.m. at Beaufort Town Center Lakeview.
